The River
The River
Time has no tab of worthwhile moments
Limited cherishable flashbacks put together
Hardly sum up to a decade…
Rest 3 decades slip through my fingers
With no notice…
Indeed, life casts numerous conundrums
Of meaningless tantrums:
Never makes sense now or even then.
Still, meaninglessness never wins!
The river keeps running at its own pace
With random whirlpools and typhoons
Again with no notice…
The whimsy trivial mind keeps believing —
The gear and brake are in its control;
The river mocks and free falls a thousand feet
To block the mind's stream of consciousness…
Many dreams and plans scattered
In the wild run, whirl and fall…
It took 4 decades to decipher:
The idea of 'I' might be the greatest swimmer,
Yet, the more it swims against the current
The more it's bruised and stuck;
Then, it learns to swim along the flow
And free fall a thousand feet down,
Surrendering to the surreal stream of life!
