Pick Them Up!!

Dear Diary George,

They try, try and try,

They fail, they fall, they cry,

But in their hearts, hope doesn't die.

If they fall, they laugh,

They find humour and optimism in every situation be it playing, quarantine or even a dead calf,

In their life everyone is equal, be it the king or his staff.

You wave them a 'hi',

In happiness, they will fly,

There sound will fill your throat which was so dry.

They don't care about looks,

They are nonchalant about what people think in their minds, full of books.

They're as honest as the mirror hanging in my room on the hook.

They are not disturbed by rules of different laws,

Neither are they interested in gossip about others' flaws,

They don't argue and are flexible like straws.

Sadly, as we grow, we forget each and every virtue,

Those who retain them are numerically very few,

And the rest answer to God when he asks, "why did you drop what I gave you?"

There is so much that we lose as we grow, as we understand the dealings of this world. Sometimes due to circumstances, sometimes by deliberation, we jump on to the wrong path. I remember Nelson Mandela's adage saying, man's goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never extinguished'

In the trying time of today, as I see the world come together, I realize that none of us was taught to hate before we entered the earth.
