A Letter To Maya
A Letter To Maya
the nights feel colder than ever
spring is near but i am stuck
in the blizzard from the december of 2017
warm hands have turned icy
the mind is frostbitten
senses know the chill
flowers don't bloom anymore
where are you?
maya, do you remember me?
maya, do you know my favorite colour?
do you know my favourite books
and songs?
maya, do you know me anymore?
where are you?
i scream your name in the darkness
with my soul full of despair
and so much desperation
it barely holds back the tears
maya, i miss your palm
securing my face
keeping them warm and rosy
maya, i miss the scent of your perfume
oh! i can barely recollect what it
smelled like, was it fruity or floral?
where are you
do you remember where we first met?
do you remember, maya, the first
words you uttered?
your love for the night sky
your love for star gazing
do you remember?
do you know your way home now?
are you lost, maya?
where are you?
i used to feel your presence
around me, like the sultry coffee
air in a cosy café
and now i have started to feel nothing
but a void that keeps expanding
like the universe
are you the galaxy lights years away
whom i shall never reach
even if i tiptoe my way
with light itself?
i'd really appreciate if you
stopped this hide and seek
and find your way back, maya
where are you?
