Perspectives

Through thick glass and thin,

Through light and dark,

I tried to view things, 

In a different arch,

Maybe even through a different monarch.

It changed every time I did,

With a different secret, it hid,

And a different story it said,

As I discovered it through a new lens,

Trying to trace its trends

It changed when thoughts did,

It changed when emotions did,

It kept on changing,

In a never ending loop, 

Belonging to the same group 

It belonged to the same kind,

But I had a story to find,

On my way to discovery, 

I did realize a lot of things,

And what meaning it brings

Through happiness and sadness,

Through hope and madness,

I still continued, 

To find the story it carried,

And my confusion grew as it varied

But realization struck soon after the fall

That the story never changed at all

It was the always same 

But the interpretation changed 

Every time something happened.

It's the magic perspective carries,

Of light and dark,

Of sadness and happiness,

Of hope and madness,

Of the positives and negatives,

Of the rise and fall, 

Of optimism and pessimism, 

And that's how perspective changes it all, 

Without changing anything at all.
