Passage Of Time

Passage Of Time

The dust settled down,

After years of mourning.

The sorrow passed by,

Like clouds in the sky.

It didn't hurt anymore,

The scar wasn't so sore.

It just stood up proud,

Reminding days shrouded by a black cloud.

The higher power above,

Had helped situation improve

And gave meaning to life,

Though nothing could make him forget his wife!

Such a gentle soul was she,

Though she would occasionally fight and disagree,

Yet life was so much fun,

Every morning shone the bright sun!

Then came the night,

That stole everything that was bright,

And left behind a trail of gloom,

He could envisage the approaching doom!

It took a split second to destroy

A beautiful life, like a used toy,

Generating scars that terribly hurt,

Burning a pyre inside his heart.

Yet with the passage of time,

His pain eased and thoughts sublimed.

Though the scar still stood up proud,

Reminding him often of the black cloud.
