One Kind Gesture At a Time...
One Kind Gesture At a Time...
When I look back
To take a stroll across all my life experiences
My heart often sinks
To the deepest disappointments
Cause there is nothing I distinctly remember
That could make my heart warmer than the desert,
But it's past midnight, and deserts often turn into
Refrigerator at this hour, I console myself!
So, I blame it all on the night.
Adjusting my pillow, as I begin to fall asleep,
A clutter of vague visions come flooding in.
Overwhelmed, I am left with one incoherent instance
Magically fitting into another...
Like
It's a cold Monday evening,
I crash into a digitally devoid chai tape
To later realize, that I forgot my wallet...
Overhearing my banter with Chaiwala
This gentleman loans me a tea worth 10 rupees
And wins my respect for a lifetime.
Unfolding into another story
Where I stand all tired in a jam-packed bus
And bump into angry fellow passengers as the bus stops
Every now and then.
Before I declare it as the worst day ever...
A lady makes her 5 years old leave her seat and
Offers me to sit...
My Leg cramps were more painful to watch
Then to have her own.
Her babysat on her lap for another 2 hours.
Before this journey could end,
I find my memory lane teleporting
To the streets of Chennai
Where I am seen loitering on the streets
Worried
After a fun shopping spree....just to find my lost wallet
I go from shop to shop with my laser eye glare intact
Just to spot a blue wallet with a lot of cash
and every photo ID proof possible.
Flushed, I sit in one corner, almost ready to cry
When a familiar man
Comes running to return my wallet
That I left at his shop by mistake.
For me, Humanity came back to life that day!
All these Experiences could have ended up in tragedy
But some heroes without capes
Know how to turn a sob story
To serendipity...
These stories tonight
Save my sinking heart
One kind gesture at a time...
