Of The Girl Child
Of The Girl Child
“The girl child –
Always thought of as frail and mild,
The girl child –
Always thought as pressure piled;
Always defiled!”
Heartbreaking to note the lines above –
Why are girls always shoved?
Is it because of their visage?
Why is the boy considered sage?
Of said and unsaid atrocities –
Why can’t people see these?
Oh, how would they –
They are insular misogynists!
But the girl child –
Unfazed, dazzled and smiled.
The effulgence, the grace, the girl child –
Adjectives can hardly explain her kind.
The girl child –
Her endeavours, not spoken of greatly;
Have you thought about her, lately?
