A Journey Back To Work
A Journey Back To Work
From a happy, festive chaos,
To a gloomy seclusion
Infested with a strong nostalgia;
From familiar faces abound,
To known strangers around
With their plastic smiles;
From mom's aromatic cuisines,
To the staple diet
By some hired chefs;
From hot and cool native breeze
Blowing in the open,
To cool but shallow treated air
Inside the porous four walls;
From all things hearty,
To all things half-hearted;
From undiluted love and affection,
To a flurry of feigned emotions;
We – the adults – were dragged
Back to work,
Like reluctant school kids
After a pleasant, long summer break!
