My Father

My father did not teach me to write poems,

But he taught me my ABCDs.

My father did not teach me to kick a football,

But he provided me with an entire football kit.

My father did not teach me to fix that bug,

But he just told me that I could fix it.

My father did not recommend me that movie,

But he still watched it sitting beside me.

My father, hardly encourages me to earn a lot,

But he tells me about the joy of little things.

My father, did not warn me of the harsh world,

But he told me of the beauty of friendship.

My father, tells me not to be too emotional,

But he explains the charm of a heart that feels.

My father, he did not stop me from being attached

But he told me of the courage it takes to forget!

 

My father did not tell me much about love,

But he always has his dinner with me …
