Papa, When Will You Come Home?
Papa, When Will You Come Home?
A letter from a heart that aches and roams,
To a soldier, brave and strong, in a distant land,
I pen these words in hopes you'll understand.
In a world of battles, where courage does shine,
I wonder when your hand will touch mine.
I long for your laughter, your warm embrace,
And the smile on your face, that fills our space.
The nights are long, the days are grey,
I miss your stories that chase the dark away.
Each star in the sky, a prayer I send,
Hoping they'll guide you, my dearest friend.
I've grown, Papa, in the time you've been away,
Learning new things with each passing day.
But your absence leaves a void in my heart,
A yearning for the day we'll no longer be apart.
Mama says you fight for what is right,
Protecting our world, day and night.
But I can't help but ask, with tears in my eyes,
Papa, when will you return, under these same skies?
Though distance separates us, our love stays strong,
In your honour, Papa, I'll keep holding on.
With every letter I write and every prayer I say,
I'll await your return, come what may.
So, Papa, when will you come home?
To your waiting son, who's no longer alone.
Until that day, I'll keep the faith alive,
And in my heart, your love will thrive.
