I Want To Be A Human

I Want To Be A Human

I want to be a human, to feel the earth,

Beneath my feet, the soil between my toes,

To breathe the wind that whispers through the trees,

And taste the rain that falls upon my lips.

To see the world through eyes unclouded, clear,

And hear the songs of birds at break of dawn,

To touch the hands of those I love, and know,

The warmth that flows from heart to heart, unbound.

I want to be a human, not a shade,

Of what once was, nor yet a fleeting dream,

To live with passion, pain, and joy entwined,

And find the beauty in each fleeting day.

To stand beneath the stars and feel their light,

Illuminate the pathways of my soul,

To laugh, to cry, to dance in life's embrace,

And leave a mark upon this world I tread.

I want to be a human, whole and true,

To walk the path that fate has set for me,

And in the end, when all is said and done,

To know I lived and loved with all my might.
