Rama's Diwali

'Twas upon a night many yugas ago,

That Ram returned to Ayodhya,

Fourteen years of having to undergo,

Numerous trials and challenges while rescuing Sita.

The people celebrated the return, 

Of their victorious and Holy King,

Who came to Earth to upturn,

Whatever evil the Rakshas was planning. 

To this day, thousands of years later,

We celebrate for the same reason,

The festival of happiness much more greater,

Than the evil celebrating their treason.

For it marks the victory of Good over Evil,

Of mankind over demons; of Rama over Ravana,

And we must also do good and refrain from the evil,

Unless we wish to face the same destiny as Ravana,

Remember everyone,

Hope is never gone,

For Rama is there still in this earth, 

In every mind and in each heart.
