Ode To Every Girl's Appearance

Ode To Every Girl's Appearance

I was blessed by the almighty to sprout out in the form of a girl in this materialistic world,

But sadly some people were always there to throw light on the cons of this gender acquired!

The day when he laughed at my stained skirt,

I hated him.

I hated him for not realisng the fact that this is the determinant of his existence on this planet.

Wherever I go,

They scan me from head to toe.

I drape my clothes with grace,

But they only interpret my dress as a kind of malice.

I hate the scoffs and jeers given by them,

"Behave like a girl! Keep quiet and be timid!

Extrovert girls are character less!"

I object to this dogmatism!

"Pink is what you need to admire!

And marriage is your ultimate destiny!"

I object to this dogmatism!

They treat me as an embellshing ornament perfect for their son.

It's ludicrous to see the way their narcissistic mouths beseech for dowry.

It's heart-wrenching to see their favorism for a baby boy.

It's excruciatingly depressing when they treat me like a superfluous person full of follies.

From yester years,

The women folk of our country is struggling hard to gain dignity and respect...

But every time,

When a Nirbhaya gets molested,

An Aarushi Talwar is brutally murdered,

A Gurmehar Kaur is bullied,

Our efforts went up in smoke...

But enough is enough,

I scream,

I admire Black and Blue more than Pink,

I Drape everything with Grace,

I am a Gorgeous,

Smart and Self-reliant girl and She is too!

And You,

Yes You,

Don't have a right to question Me or Her!
