Navratri A Ladies Speciality

Long ago in the City of Dreams,

I too saw a scene,

Of colors and lights,

All through the nights.

Oh! And there were 9

Of such days and nights

With all of us ladies

Decked up in the best of ours,

All looking fresh like the dew

Smelling fresh like the temple garlands

Let the year belong to them-the Men,

But these were our days and nights,

Even the Goddess shining bright,

In Her best dress and jewels to go along.

Then came the City of Colors,

With its dandiya beats and

Colorful nights,

With its Farsan and sweets

With 'kemchhos" and "majjamaas"

With its "bhais" and "bens"

With "live dhoklas"

Oh! A real foodies paradise.

And now I have nothing left,

But the fond memories,

Of the Cities of Dreams and Colors,

All in their best outfits.

And the 9 days and 10 nights

All of them of the Goddess,

With the rest of us,

Let the year belong to them,

But these 9 days and 10 nights are ours,

Just OURS!!!!
