Woo-Hoo!!! Summer Is Here
Woo-Hoo!!! Summer Is Here
Woo-hoo!!! Summer is here,
Is a cry from far away,
Which still rings in my ears,
Like a friend from far away.
The start of the hols,
The beginnings of a 2-month break,
From the jail called the school,
And obviously the routines,
Don't you know!!!!
Wow! Summer is here,
Was a chime,
On each one's lips,
The parched young lips.
Looking for some fruitiness,
In the chilled fresh juice,
And some stickiness
In the fresh mango pulp.
No more winter wear for us,
Just some cotton shirts and frocks,
And a few pennies from our piggybanks,
For the long-forgotten,
Kulfiwala Uncle.
With his rusty cycle and stock of kulfi,
Was a respite for all of us.
And the latest movies to catch up on,
And the latest books to read all day long.
Now,
I have my own money,
No time to use it,
The Summer is the same,
But I am not.
Pennies and pounds everywhere,
No time to call my own,
I still wish to get back time,
When I could cry out aloud,
Woo-hoo!!! Summer is here.
