National Farmers' Day
National Farmers' Day
A day for the farmer, small food grower
Tilling all day, but doesn’t make hay.
In the soil he toils, his feet full of boils
His skin full of many a wrinkle, for him the bells don’t jingle.
When he makes a harvest, barely enough to cover his expense at best
Now he is on a protest, for the nation it is a test.
He is neither a Khalistani, nor an armed terrorist
Just a humble farmer and sports no armour
Please don’t call him names, and don’t play games
If you can address his grievance, that would make sense.
