MY PET

MY PET

1 min
150

I called him always by his name, like a human

Can’t tolerate anyone calling him a dog

When he filled my life with richness of love

How can you call him as an animal, a dog?

Yes, I did have pet dogs, but long time back,

When I had a large house for him to run

I did, feeding, bathing as if he was my baby

As he cuddled near, all late nights of my study

For him, I sat on a fan less, hot Veranda, in summer

As he was not allowed inside the house

But now, I can’t take a pet for a walk anymore

Or feed of bath him, with my own old hands

I just want a robot- dog, sure not a live one

Just to relive my memories of those past days.
