Moving On
Moving On
My hand wavered,
This was not new,
It’s been like this for years.
She tells me to move on.
To move on without her,
But I can’t.
I want to, but I feel her.
After all these years,
After all these tears,
She’s still here.
Her presence
Beckoning me forward,
But I can’t.
I can’t forget her.
The way she walked,
The way she talked,
I can’t.
I must move,
But to move…
Would kill her
And all she stands for.
The hope she brought
Into my life,
I can’t let her go.
She beckons and beckons
But I refuse to kill her.
My hands waver
And waver,
But she lives.
