Mistakes

Mistakes

I dwelt upon some mistakes of the past.

Dwely upon them for a time so long.

No matter how much my brain tried to free me from their clutches,

My mind kept on lingering in their disturbances.

Those mistakes still seemed colossal to me.

The waterfall of tears shed still haunt me.

I know it's the time to leave the past behind.

It had never been to me really kind.

Even today, I try to dissect those mistakes.

I try to understand them, to know them.

Everytime I see any glimpse of the past,

I get from my surroundings, outcast.

These mistakes have stolen now, my ability to make new mistakes.

They have robbed me of my right to learn from my mistakes.

They have deprived me of my privilege to experience new things.

Because now,

Everytime I try to venture into the unhackneyed,

Those mistakes beckon me, they edict me

To stop.

They intimidate me with the anxiety of failure.

I know I should break from this constant fear.

I understand I should cast away every past tear.

My brain has been supportive of these new thoughts.

But the mind still listens to the verdict of the past.
