Missing Old Summers

This summer is alike 

To last summer 

Hot and scorching Sun 

Hot waves, high temperature 

Thirst and

No final exams 

No board exams 

No wait for the result 

No stress of result 

No expectation of holding rank 

No fear of parents 

Scolding for bad marks 

No excitement for the next class 

No interest for new books 

No wait for the summer vacation 

No homeworks No assignments 

No summer camps 

No summer tours to Shimla, Manali 

No visit to grandparents home 

No classes at schools

No fun in the classrooms and playground 

No outings No movies at the theatres 

Since last year 

Only ‘No’ exists ‘ Yes’ disappears

 

Missing those joyful days 

Sharing emotions, lunch box, pens 

At the school 

Enjoying with friends and grandparents 

Playing cricket and football 

Missing kulfis, sugarcane juice  

and ice creams at the stalls 

Missing the water parks 

Lost the hot days 

Swimming in the ponds and pools 

Never expected such a bad summer 

Locked at home 

The enthusiasm has been replaced 

By the uncertainty and fear 

Always thought and pray 

Summer break might be more longer 

Had waited for the mobile games 

Now whole time with mobile 

But no excitement 

Now it’s longer unexpectedly 

Everything changed 

A hope still dwells in our hearts 

A new change will certainly come 

This summer will vanish soon 

The old summer days will reappear 

Will meet friends soon in the classroom

Will visit grandparents

Will have ice-creams and kulfis 

Will play in the playground 

This time will flew away 

 the new morning will bring back 

Our missing days ,hope 

Love and togetherness 

Our summer days will
