Lover’s Eyes
Lover’s Eyes
Mine are black, his are brown,
Where lies the amazing contrast,
When purity defines you and darkness, me.
They have a tint of gold, glazing right through mine,
Sunshine wouldn’t be adequate to describe
The rarity and purity of yours that reflect through mine.
Cavernous enough to reach the deep hollows of my eyes
The dark world that’s filled within, glazes as bright as thine.
Brings the mountains to your knees,
Brings the darkness to a standstill.
They whisper,
Maybe mine aren’t bright, but
I see the world through your eyes,
Yours are the ones that define mine.
