City Lights

There it goes

Lightning up the streets like burning sparks of lights.

Our eyes gazing through the different patterns of night.

The roads are blurred,

While the tired footsteps find their way back home.

Clearing the paths for the thoughts to walk within

And the avenues to the human spirit lay ahead.

Where the streets look like a constellation,

And the lights like that of the stars glazing throughout the darkness,

Our hearts soaring high

And our minds racing across the streets.

The animals lay silent and asleep 

While we are awakened with the sweet humming of the inner soul.

The breeze that flows across our face 

And the sky blazed by the splendid moonlight above, 

Makes our hearts amazed with the beauty of holding 

That which we have forgotten.

Our hearts lighten and our sight brightens

For city light reminds us 

Of the dark clouds that shall pass too,

For the good awaits and bad weaken down and burns to ashes. 

And the lights keep shining,

Manifesting us the multitude of the crowd, 

While alluding to our solitude.

The marvelous beauty of imagination 

That seeps in,

And we crawl to our memory lane and there occurs

The sweet embrace between us and our hearts.

Reminding us that, 

When the world turns upside down,

Feel free to fly amongst the stars.
