Love You (Too)
Love You (Too)
When the Boy whispered into her ear;
Magical words: “Love You”
The Girl felt a ripple effect;
All through her body.
A good kind of palpitation
In her heart;
She exploded with joy.
A simple serendipity;
Transformed into a life-altering moment.
Channelling her love;
To the will of one human.
Taking high-stakes wilderness;
Of audacious and unruly acts
Just for the sake of love.
The Girl sought for external validation
Their vignette of hearts;
Subtly showing shades of love.
Encouraging the Boy;
To keep her closer forever.
Though when you intrude
A man’s territory of Love;
A woman does a lot of explaining,
Deferring, apologising, and bending.
For she has willingly immolated
Her true being.
Risen as an unsteady person;
Hobbling to straighten her commitment;
Just for the sake of Love.
The dulcet tone of Love;
Sounds lighter with Time.
The Girl can see herself;
As a lone rose;
In his bouquet of Love.
In his ocean of humanity;
Just a kind act of loving someone.
Minus the Girl in his life;
The equation of happiness remains
Same for the Boy.
She repudiated herself;
For not reading ‘Too’ within brackets.
Just for the sake of Love.
As sea of memories blinded her vision;
Tears rolled down her cheeks.
The Girl could not retrace;
The winding route of Love.
She knew then
What needed to be done;
Her silence, pain, and personal grief;
Will have to be metamorphosed;
Into vibrant, evocative strain
Of music, poetry and literature
A reason to sustain;
Just for the sake of Love.
