A Poignant Welcome: 2021
A Poignant Welcome: 2021
Tick Tock! Tick Tock!
The chimes of the clock
At the stroke of midnight
Poignantly welcomes New Year.
On a state of tabula rasa;
A clean slate altogether
I will be writing
To my reader’s delight;
Something new and something afresh.
It had been an unmooring year;
Lost on an island
Of frailty and precarity;
I had unfailingly watered;
All my flowering plants
Of relationships
With abundant love and faith;
Still some breathed it’s last
For it stood on arid earth.
My vessel is buffeted:
By the constant battering
Of life’s dicey storms;
Now I will be boarding another ship
With a heavy melancholic heart;
‘Cause some may not be able
To come along with me further.
Yet my writer’s mind;
Will carry the fragrance of their
bitter sweet memories.
Life chooses me
Rather than I choose life.
I need to exist...
Taking an exploratory leap
On a fertile terrain;
With new patterns and rhythms of life;
A whole new set of possibilities.
Parting most certainly
becomes more appallingly beautiful;
When alibied
By the notion of: “A Brand New Vision”
