Let me Breathe

I didn't expect you to turn around and hold me 

in your arms for the one last time, 

As I broke into pieces,

Where you once completed me. 

I know I will bounce back,

With a smile like a burst of sunshine, 

I always do,

You used to love that about me too. 

But the thing is,

I never thought you would be the reason,

Of this pain so bright,

That blinded me at the first sight.

Of this helplessness,

Where the more I breathe the more suffocating it feels. 

Let me cut the cords,

So I can breathe,

Or I will die of suffocation,

Without anyone to grieve.
