Years From Now

Years from now,

Does it matter how I lived or where?

Only the seeds I sowed,

In my pupils,

Painting the path ahead.

Years from now,

Does it matter;

The theory of relativity or evolution?

Only the love you inspired,

Of truth and joy.

Eyes boring into me,

Some others wandering,

All united by my voice,

Separated by their will.

Bustling to get your appreciation,

A pat in the back,

The drive we needed,

To surpass the inertia,

Of lethargy and apathy.

Years from now,

The laughter and the fun,

Still alive in my mind,

The grades and scores,

A mere record of our achievement,

Stashed up amongst,

An evanescent memory.
