Let Me Be....

No, stop!

It is not about killing me this time 

But it is about letting me live.

I urged you a lot of times,

To let me come out and 

Stay in this world, since

My mother told me, that 

The world outside awaits me,

The world outside is beautiful, 

The world outside is a place so serene,

And the world outside is going to be 

A place of our thoughts.

But it seems now to me that

The mother cherished me

Even when I was within,

The world inside was more beautiful, 

The world inside was so serene

And oh! The world inside was 

A place of our thoughts.

Here, you judge me from my clothes,

You object to my times,

You do not like the way I look.

You do let me live now......oh! Thank you!!!!

But why do you kill my dreams and ambitions now?

Stop looking at my clothes

Instead, limit your thoughts and eyes.

Stop bounding me with times

And rather, recheck your timings. 

Stop perfecting my looks

And please, start focusing more on your health and height.

For I am a lot more than this, 

For I am no more just a gossip queen,

Or a robotic homemaker device,

For I am no less than

How capable, since ever, I used to be.

Oh, mind you,

I am a diver of space,

I am a bearer of the new democracies, 

I am a technological ace,

I am a fashionista redefining beauty and the brain.

Remember, I am not just a piece of flesh and bones,

But I am a rock that can bring you down on your knees.

I am a flambeau lit out of the fire within.

And yes, I, still am, the calm river from within

Born to give the thirsty souls,

The ambrosia of life.

Let me breathe, 

Breath in the air of independence. 

Let me fly,

Fly in the sky of possibilities. 

Let me burn,

Burn in the fire of hard work.

Let me flow,

Flow in the ocean of hopes.

And, let me grow,

Grow up in the land of respect.....

To be a human being alive,

To be an ambitious achiever,

To be a successful co-worker 

To be an equal gender,

And yes, of course,

To be a girl, a woman.

Because it is not about killing me this time,

But this time, it is about, letting me live, breathe and be what I am and

What I want to and can be.
