Just Another Day

Just Another Day

A new hope sparks itself every day,

The single spark aiming to turn into a forest fire,

The dying flame rejuvenates with undying perseverance day and again

Every day she wakes up with the desire to rise higher and higher.

But the world is cruel, the people even worse

It's sad to see the remains of what the world was mean to be,

Turned to ashes on the merciless pyre.

A demon lays await within,

The pure angel shackled away far out of reach,

Cruelty, greed, the bitter poison, the envy;

There's no innocence left here, nobody without a sin.

Tears that flow make no difference at all,

Empty words for the sake of conversation conquer the world.

Broken hearts litter the barren streets of 'who cares!?'

Wandering aimless souls with shattered dreams strewn hither and tither.

The good, the bad, the evil, the pure

All hidden beneath fake masks there's no difference at all.

People will talk, that's all they do,

Trying their best to ignore their pain,

Their insecurities and turmoil brought forth by the-

Demons that underneath their skins crawl.

Love and friendship, the bittersweet nectar or poison, are

Castaway and transformed to the rarest of the rare.

While hate and enmity, for the sake of hatred and war,

Spread fast and diffuse into the air.

Twisted and gnarled feeding off of desire,

Poisoned, and mislead by the demons within,

There's no mercy nor any sympathy for the ones left devastated,

Devastated as each one rises, crueler than the last,

Wanting nothing less than to be the empress; to be king,

The spark of hope lights up again and yet again,

Keeping her true to herself despite what others say,

But looking down upon the world with enlightened eyes of wisdom,

She asks, what is yesterday, today, tomorrow or the days that are yet to follow forevermore;

But just another day.
