Angel In Disguise
Angel In Disguise
Veiled behind a mask of ignorance,
Wasted beneath the starry sphere that hovers above,
Living in an illusion, a broken lie, a reverie,
Rested in an illusioned comfort, underneath a blanket of love.
Blinded by hatred,
Frozen by sheer despise
Locked behind bars of freedom.
Living life by the roll of a dice,
Oblivious to those around,
Ignorant to matters that need attention,
Just deeply involved in ones self and personal benefits.
Killing, hurting, spewing venom without any hesitation,
Do you care not about the souls you shatter?
Do you see not the blood on your hands?
Are you truly so blinded by your greed, your jealousy
Are you truly unaware of grounds on which to stand?
Your words they weigh, more than you realize it,
Building unto the pressure upon ones chest,
Building and rising, crushing and smothering
But you're mistaken, I am nothing like the rest.
I'm not who you think of me to be
The naïve innocent soul is long gone.
The world has no place for pure angels,
No place to heal shattered souls,
And I'm tired of staying pristine through the listless unsettling night,
Waiting for the crack of dawn.
I will rise over you, above and beyond,
And let my wrath befall unto those who've left me to wither away.
A demon is none but an angel in hell,
And I'm just an angel, spreading out my wings,
Tired of living in this broken lie, ready to claim my throne,
Unafraid to show the world my true place.
