Abstract Tragedy Children

Innocence

Innocence

2 mins
321

She was barely five,

her skirt reaching barely her knees,

with hair pulled carelessly in a braid,

looking in the mirror, trying to mimic her Mumma,

Eyes full of dreams and no traces of fear.

The innocent one was fresh and raw.

How cute? Isn't it? Let's see

A big heavy hand pressed her shoulder,

even bigger enough to cover her hold a hand,

And a brutal smile on the face,

The naïve one considered him real.

He grabbed her with one hand and took her to the hell,

the hell which is not meant for kids,

A hell that is burning and painful,

And then left alone in the bathroom.

The little one was confused.

She was shocked,

She was hurt,

Yet she was "THE GOOD GIRL"

the good girl of her "FAVOURITE UNCLE"

Who five minutes earlier took a promise from her to keep their "GAME" a "SECRET",

He had the same brutal smile on his face while buttoning his pants.

The innocent one kept quiet.

Days passed, It became a routine,

The game was an everyday hustle now,

Till her weakness became visible,

She was sent to the doctor and her uncle eloped,

Days became months and months became years,

till she realized what actually had happened.

Oh, how unfortunate she was,

Now no one will believe,

The naïve one still kept quiet.

Misery was real,

And every face now felt as a danger,

trust issues, love issues, and what not

Every eye felt like gazing to attack,

The world became dark,

And every one a stranger,

A loner in the crowd,

she used to talk to herself - "That did make your stronger"

Inner self replied - "But I was a kid, I didn't need to be strong, I needed to be safe"

There was rudeness in her behavior,

And roughness in her words,

She hated her own self,

The little one was dead inside.
