For 200 years the British ruled,
Common people were being fooled.
Freedom fighters came forward,
To free India, they worked very hard.
Some of them protested with slogans,
The rest shot Britishers with their guns.
Bapu played an important role,
With his 'Quit India Movement' united all.
On August 15,1947, the British fled,
'India is independent', they declared.
