Independence Day

Remember the martyrs who gave their life

Just so we could feel safe 

In every moment of our day. 

They protected us from invaders 

When the thought of getting killed 

Would haunt us at nights 

Then why do we often forget them 

While studying history of India

Are they not honourable enough

To be recognised by people? 

Let's not forget the others who fought alongside Bhagat Singh 

Because they should equally be recognised

For they also sacrificed their life 

To keep their motherland safe.

This Independence Day

Remember every person 

Who gave their life 

Just so we could be free.
