Parents

They say 

Parents don't change 

But children do 

And now I

Realise 

That this is 

Absolutely true.

Growing up

We never 

Realise 

The amount 

Of things 

That our 

Parents sacrifice.

From the 

Education

We get 

To the 

Hours they work 

Late 

Just so 

We could 

Get 

A meal 

Three times 

A day.

From hugging 

Our parents

And saying 

"I love yous " 

To quarrelling

All the time 

With them 

The time 

Has changed 

So much so 

That we 

Don't even 

Think of 

Them 

As our 

Own.

Their scoldings 

Are misunderstood

By us 

As we think 

Of it 

As anger 

When it 

Is actually 

Love.

I am 

Writing this 

To make 

Everyone realise 

That parents 

Aren't our 

Foes but 

They are 

Our friends

Whose place 

No one 

Can 

Ever fill.
