In the Hush of Empty Pockets...

In the Hush of Empty Pockets...

Our good Dreams, our good Hope
Fray like worn-out thread
In the hush of Empty pockets...
We are threatened by
The pending Bills...
But we are Helpless...
In the hush of Empty pockets...
But no one Cares.

We wrestle and combat day in and day out
Failing to meet our basic amenities in life
Which is our Right but snatched from our hands
In the hush of Empty pockets...
But no one Cares.

Our Hunger gnaws and darkness prevails...
And what to tell about our Pride !!!
It crumbles under eviction's knock
In the hush of Empty pockets...
But no one Cares.

Our home dissolves to wandering spark.
Cold and tight, the Debts coil like serpents...
Our Health fades for the want of aid's thin grace,
Children ask for good food which is not there!
This is how we are tortured
In the hush of Empty pockets...
But no one Cares.

Our Innocent eyes mirror the mother's trace.
Very peculiarly, our so-called friends
Drift like smoke on winter wind
Affluent people behave like Strangers !
Our tragic Loneliness wraps in icy shroud...
We are in a Tussle -- it's a tug-of-war
In the hush of Empty pockets...
But no one Cares.

In the void, a fierce spark gleams —
Human Resilience rises, unbowed, unbound...
Our self Respect gets vanquished By Inhumanity, Drama and cynicism
Adrift on fortune's storm-tossed sea...
In the hush of Empty pockets...

We don't know What may come tomorrow...
The night is deep and desperate...
Our Wings are chopped
And we Can't claim the sky of comfort
In the hush of Empty pockets...
