If I Were An Autodidact

If I Were An Autodidact

If I were an autodidact,

I would be in the middle of nowhere,

Would be a flower without fragrance,

Swaying in a moist and filthy garden,

None to pluck it, even taking a peek.

If I were an autodidact,

Would be a famished beggar in street;

No refuge to live, no attire to wear,

Just hanging around hither and thither,

None to feed me, even taking a peek.

The world having abundant legends,

Making the earth iridescent and green

Not counting them in my endless list

But life brimmed with legends like you

No sweat though you're unsung heroes.

I'm fortuitous to have you in my life,

Like the diligent and dauntless fighters

My wordy tree of thanks and gratitude,

Surely unable to produce in return

As neither made me a flower nor a beggar.
