I Will Dream
I Will Dream
Lying on the softest mattress
Cuddling the finest linen
Of the richest hue..
Purple-
Exquisite and royal,
Comforting and supreme,
Balanced by the sheets
In pastel cream,
I close my eyes
I haven't been
More scared
Than to dream.
Since a toddler
To a teen,
A young adult
To a matured being
I dare to dream.
My soul becomes lighter
The space turns brighter
My thoughts elevate
The closed eyes gleam
I continue to dream.
I raise my arm
To touch my dream
That seems
To be at the arm's length
I fail
I try again
I'm my own strength.
I saw my father
Carrying a dream on his chest
I saw my brother go
Leaving behind his dream
To rest.
Who doesn't dream?
In pursuit of dreams
The mind wanders in the mirage
Amidst many oases
For a perfect collage.
Let life throw challenges
Light, medium or extreme
I'm also determined now,
I will dream.
