The Midas Touch

These eyes had

Forgotten to twinkle.

Just blinked,

Sometimes welled up,

For no reason.

The depth unfathomable,

Looked at the world

Like everyone else does.

The eyelids bat

More often now.

They have been

Loved and kissed

And praised

Like never before

It yearned and found

That Midas touch.

It speaks now

To everyone

Tells the stories

Of pleasure and pain

Still remain

As you say 'worrisome'

You like it that way

So it worries

All the more.

Of loans, provisions, and bills

Cater to the needs of kids and

Spouse ..

Still

Sheepishly

It glows

The purpose of being feminine

Arouse

And the eyes then

Close again

And ask for love

And the gentle kiss.
