Crusader....the friend

Have you ever seen a bird

Not wanting to be free?

It may be in a cage or perch upon 

the foliage of a tree.

The kid at my home too

Wants freedom of a bird

I chide her as an authority 

And declare her demand absurd.

I declined her proposal 

To which , she threw 

her hands up in the air .

I got angry, 

So did she,

And left the room in despair.

She labels me outdated

And mocks at my ignorance.

When I disregard her choice of things ,

And dresses of her preference.

We are at loggerheads usually

For dfference of opinions.

Seldom we agree,

I wouldn't like what she does 

She wouldn't become 

What I want her to be.

I know some kids feel lonely 

And suffer from emotional issue,

This subject needs a quick solution 

And not let it continue.

Some take up to smoking, crime,

Drugs and alcohol, 

Some embrace disorders in the process like anorexia, OCD, phobias and all.

Many questions they have

But no replies

So they remain in stress.

Pressure of peers, family,

Society and friends

All puts them in distress.

Finally I have decided

I shan't at all bother,

For my kid and her clan

Henceforth

I shall be a crusader,

A friend and not a mother.

However one tries to cut its wings,

The flight of a bird is destined.

No one can restrict anyone's freedom

A bird can never be confined.
