I lit a lamp
I lit a lamp

It was dark and I lit a lamp
It looked magnificent
In its splendour, resembling
A damsel's dance on stage.
Darkness embraced
Every bit of Flame
A perfect partner indeed
Old critters did their bit
Winged angels pranced around
To their serenade
And disappeared into ashes.
Flame danced till
Darkness left the stage.
A sharp early morning alarm
Shook me out of delusion.
The stage looked deserted
Flame will dance once again
In the arms of Darkness.
The thought comforted me
And I waited.
