Old School
Old School
Trust me,
If I'd get the chance,
to go back to my old school,
I will dress properly,
with oily plaits,
with blue ribbons,
with proper mono
clean shoes,
with shirt so loose,
I will be punctual,
I will reach ten minutes
before the prayers,
to notice
the beautiful building,
the playing kids,
the red and yellow flower,
to adore every hour,
I will sing our prayer hymns
a lil louder,
Trust me I will
join my hands
and
close my eyes,
I will listen
to every single word,
Of father,
Of students,
Of friends,
Memories that never ends,
For just once,
If I would get the chance,
I will not ignore
the thought of the day,
the assembly acts,
the speeches,
the news headline,
And will not fall in the sunshine,
I will clap louder,
for the kids,
For the juniors,
For the seniors,
I will tap my feet more,
in those annoying march-past,
I will keep my head up
proudly to sing,
"Jana gana mana"
If I'd get the chance
to sit in my old classroom,
Believe me,
I'll embrace
all the sour cream walls,
the desk and benches,
the underlined books,
I will enjoy
every lecture,
and each chapter.
Just as the recess bell will ring,
I will be the 1st one
to reach canteen,
to eat my fav samosas,
& to share my oily parathas,
to giggle with juniors,
to meet with seniors,
Trust me,
I will,
not just learn
from practicals,
But I will laugh again,
for failed experiment,
I will laugh again,
for being caught at bunking,
I will enjoy,
every "raise your hand"
And "kneel down"
punishment,
And will never for less percent,
Believe me,
I will do the steps,
Of 8,7,6,
in my physical training class,
I will rush towards
the badminton and basketball court,
I will be upset again for time so short,
With loving the teachers,
I will again talk,
to those non teaching staff,
During my Annual meets,
I will participate in every,
Contest,
the singing,
the art,
the poems
the skits,
and the speeches,
Those teacher teaches,
For just once,
If I'd get the chance,
to go back,
to old school,
Trust me,
Just as the bell will ring for departing,
I will be, the last one,
to reach to the parking,
Believe me,
I will.
