Here And After
Here And After
That summer of 86
In sheer disturbance of cicadas and
Moths buzzing around;
He stood there in a loose tee and baggy pants.
Around the leisured evening
He usually tunes through the radio channels
Trying to find his self spoken thoughts
Amidst the fading in and out signals.
It seemed he was comfortable
With his surroundings.
The soon to be burnt lamp was placed
Just at the center to brighten up the whole room.
Books scattered around; history, literature
Stretched to finance and monetary volumes.
Dreaming and lost for his future
His face scarcely showed any expression
Fulfilling household duties, running with
The flow of time throughout the day;
Still managing to get a little space for himself
He plans out how and where he will stand
In this vast world in a not so distant future
Where he along with his presence will matter;
When things won't be as hard as it is now;
Which will keep him happy so it seems;
Hands held high up towards the sky
He draws a line with a smile
This is the way I am gonna live
Until I die.
