Not like what I grew up seeing in movies
Nothing like I've read in books
Comfort, rather
Like if you came any closer, I'd turn you into poetry
Intoxication
Like the world became less cruel and you made up for the hellacious things it had shown me
Solace
Like the summer storm, I'd been fighting had hushed to an ocean breeze
Hope
Like my bloody knuckles from fighting the past were being bandaged
