Growing Pains
Growing Pains
It's true what they say
Weep alone and you shall lengthen your sorrow
Yet why do they refuse to lent their shoulders
Am I an abomination
That must not be for they loved me
They loved the idea of me
Yet my voice remained unheard
To claim their attention, scream I did
But alas I was met with disgust
For they did not want to love the aching me
Where had my smile gone, they wondered
They knew yet they pretend not to know
I was to remain silent and endure
To keep everyone happy
They'll love me if I betrayed myself
But I refuse to be kept for keepsake
The growing pains they gifted shall remain
Forever growing and growling like a wild beast
Waiting upon its chance to break free
To put an end to her misery
And seek vengeance upon her oppressors
For she too deserved true love and freedom
Like everyone else only more so
