Girls Like Me

Girls Like Me

1 min
195

Girls only look good with long hair

I shaved my head

Girls should have an hourglass figure

I gained enough weight to look like a ball

Girls look good with natural makeup

I either went bare or put on the brightest shade of red

Girls should smell sweet like flowers

I worked with grease so much that it became a part of me

I now realise it was not a healthy way to protest, no matter how worthy a protest it was

Basing my identity in opposition to your stereotypes

Creating my own

Should have just ignored you

Ignored convention to do my own thing

Not what you did not want me to do

Oh, don't misunderstand

I still support the cause.

I just no longer abide by your definition, or any.
