Forgiveness
Forgiveness
When you struggle to breathe, despite the fresh summer breeze
Or feel your hands scorched under the soothing shade of trees
When your head is heavy with the leaded thoughts of past
And the heart is stifled and smothered fighting to free at last
It is time you try forgiveness as your peers would say
Just a little ounce of forgiveness will go a long way!!
I wonder why you prod and trod the road that leads to pain
And then futility hide your footprints as you journeyed it in vain
Why scratch the scab from a healing wound and relive the hurt!
Why yank the strings so tight that it puts you in disconcert!
Let the forgiving waves wash away the repressed hate
Dissolve the bruised pride, guilt, regrets, and self-negate.
Let the tears freely flow like a gushing waterfall
Emptying the mossed gravel, tangled weeds, and all
Let go of the fear as you dive deep into the free space
Let nothing hold you back as you acknowledge every phase
To surrender from a place of love and faith, can surely be a task
But, when we reach the promised land, isn’t forgiveness that we shall ask?
