Dear God

Dear God

2 mins
395

Time seems to have stopped in the darkest hour

The clock struck by a hammer of our own deeds

Shattering the glass of dreams and dismounting the needle of hope

Groping everyone with fear and panic,

Amongst the smashed pieces

We now search for an unbroken future.

Dear God, can you see us? We stand-still

Only you have the winding key, I wonder if it is lost!

All the candles are burning out, the mounds of wax keep piling over

Every lamp is exhausted, the wick has turned to ashes

In such times we have lit our hearts,

Dear God, can you see those floating lights?

Or is it engulfed by the wild and deadly fire that we ignited,

The one that has burned everything from the roof to the root!

The bells are ringing loud, resonating between the hills and the dales

Every corner is filled with echoes of our cries, as we call your name

Dear God, can you hear us?

Or is muffled by the commotion and horrendous noise that

We have created over the years deafening your ears!

All hands are joined, and heads bow as we pray, pray for your help

These hands are no more clapping at the egoic ‘me’

For once, we are ashamed of every trick we pulled out of our pompous hat

Not everything is in ‘our’ hands as we so far proclaimed

Dear God, can you sense our remorse?

As we pray for forgiveness and not for fortune

So please let your hand steer us, only YOU can stop our fall

Into the Man-made Hell
