Flesh & Bone
Flesh & Bone
Whether it was all fragile,
Under that mask
Which you were clenching all the time.
Whether it was all naive
Under that shrunken skin
Where you can clutch your mere exertions
If you can ever redress those fallacies
Which you kept on incessanting
Now and then.
Whether it was all just a fantasy
Behind those drapes
Where you were camouflaging ceaselessly
Without any self-esteem
Whether it was a broken desire
Behind your spotless mind,
Where you kept on whining
With no hope of attaining
The perception of becoming something
No matter how much you keep on striving.
Whether you can ever realise,
About that unknown treason,
Which Flesh and bone can never atone
For those who can rise above
Whose hearts are honed on sacred stones
Under hope, truth and love
Where we can reach those peaks,
Through the vale of hankering
For those you seldom speak
Whenever their wisdom seeks
To guide the incited souls
Under the veil of disguise and conciliation.
