Fireflies
Fireflies
They appear in the eerie night,
Aren’t capable of giving a hideous fright.
Like dazzling fairy lights, they look,
Under a tree with a fascinating book.
I caught a weak one in my hand,
It sedately faded away in my hand.
I left it steadily on the ground,
It started to warmly glow again, I found!
It rose in the chill, night air,
As the distant stars, it started to flare!
I can’t shine nor emit the bright light,
In the peaceful, dark night.
But I patiently wait each night for them,
They glow vividly, just like a gem.
