Fabric and Needle
Fabric and Needle
For days I thought, you deserve better than me.
But today, I realize, I deserve better than you
I'm glad we were not in it from the first place
I'm fabric and you're needle
The stitch you'd make in me
Wouldn't be a pleasant pattern
It's forged to make others happy
A union of convenience, what else can you expect?
But deep down,
Deeper than my reason, deeper than my logic
Lay my naive memories
That run warm everywhere
And in every ounce of it
Yearned for you to be the same man
You came in
To ruffle my every crystal opinion
Into muddy biased stories
You grew up, into someone else
A stranger, whom I had trouble finding
I lost you in a medley of your own
And all I had was a cluster of pictures, which I never should've owned
You remind me I'm rejected
I vow to never see you, until I'm someone else's.
This shall be my new salvage, my new mission- To find a better needle.
Cause I'm fabric and you're needle
The stitch you'd make in me,
For a moment I thought- Would be an art worth fighting for
