Abstract Tragedy Others

Two Sisters

Two Sisters

Two sisters,

Shared the same childhood,

But carved their own paths of interest.

An introvert and an extrovert,

A bookworm and a Koreaboo,

A LOK and an ATLA.

They pushed each other,

And also pulled each other.

With time, change was apparent.

The former was more noticed than the latter,

Had more preference than the latter.

A ridge deepened in her heart with every passing day,

Until she went far far away from the former.

She struggles to have friends,

And the latter struggles to be better than her.

Of all the love and care She can showered,

Is now accused of stealing her sister's thunder.

Is it my fault to express whatever I can?

Or your fault if they can't see your talent?

They know not of what battles she fights,

Crimson red dripping from her shield.

They know not behind her every smile of confidence,

Lies an abyss of fear and insecurity.

That there hides therein a quivering child,

Not wanting the world to know of her existence.

You know not,

That by your casual slay of comments,

You've unleashed the monsters within them.

As they rise from their shields,

They fight till hearts content.

One, wanting to get attention,

And the other, done with unwanted praise.

Why should you be bothered of their wars?

After all, they're but bulls for your arena,

When they lock horns, you laugh,

When they fall, you mock.

Your words, an arrow sculpted,

Never missing it's target, reaching many eager ears.

How do you see them now?

As beasts, striped of sanity?

Or as monsters, sans grace, sans humane?

Two sisters,

Now sit in each corner,

Reminiscing of their old times,

The ridge deepened in their hearts,

Their pain edged by the other-unforgettable.
